Electrical & Electrical Safety Related Work Practices Course Description
This course begins with basic electrical principles such as static versus dynamic electricity; current, voltage, and resistance; the elements of a circuit; grounding; and insulation. The hazards of electricity, including burns, shocks, electrocution, arcs, fires, and explosions are gone over in detail, as well as first aid procedures. Students will learn the definition, training requirements, and duties of a “qualified person.” Electrical protective devices and safe work practices as established by OSHA are the main focus of the class, as well as procedures, equipment, and equipment modifications to be avoided.
