Powered Industrial Trucks Course Description

This course is meant to familiarize workers with the various types of forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized hand trucks, etc., powered by diesel, electric batteries, liquified propane gas, and gasoline. Eleven specialized types of lifts are discussed, some of which are rated to be used in hazardous atmospheres. Also covered are tipover hazards, safe driving practices, loading and unloading , parking requirements, inspections, and maintenance. The class is intended to prepare employees for hands-on training at their facilities with the specific equipment they will be using on the job. Evaluations must be performed at a minimum of every 3 years.
